North Douglas Library District's
2023-2028 Strategic Plan
The 2023-2028 Strategic Plan runs July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2028.
Adopted by the North Douglas Library District Board of Directors on June 21, 2023.
Why a Strategic Plan?
The North Douglas Library District's Strategic Plan helps document where the District currently is and establishes a direction for the District's future through long-term goals and the action steps needed to reach them.

This is a working guide created by representatives from the NDLD board, NDLD staff, Friends of the Library, and community at large. Strategic Plan progress updates are provided to the NDLD board at their regularly scheduled meetings
in July, October, January, and April.

Initial meeting. Representatives from the NDLD board, NDLD staff, Friends of the Library, and community at large brainstormed strategic plan goals and associated objectives. Attendees chose to create one goal for each of the District's values. Objectives were incorporated through a SWOT analysis activity (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats).

Throughout the month of May, a copy of the draft strategic plan was posted in the Mildred Whipple Library for public feedback and additional input.
​
Second meeting. Representatives from the NDLD board, NDLD staff, Friends of the Library, and community at large finalized the draft Strategic Plan for the upcoming NDLD board presentation.
