Miriam holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and English Literature from the University of Oregon. Her career has included time as Editor in Chief at Gartner Group International, as a Communications Strategist at Waggener Edstrom, as a Staff Writer at the Klamath Falls Herald & News and as a Resource Director at South Lane Ballet Academy. Miriam brings to the library a lifelong love of literature and research and a commitment to providing access to information and a forum for positive community interactions.
Kesna holds a Bachelor of Science in Math and Science from the University of Wyoming and a Montessori Teaching Certificate from Boulder, Colorado. She has worked in the Montessori system as a teacher and administrator and in addition to working at Mildred Whipple Library, she is on the board of directors of the Yoncalla Public Library. Kesna's commitment to education and community building is an asset to our team.
Nicole is a native Oregonian and was homeschooled through high school by her family. She holds an EMT certificate and enjoys studying plants and herbal medicines. She loves to read nonfiction and has enjoyed traveling locally and internationally.
Katrina has been with the Mildred Whipple Library since our grand opening in 2018! She is a graduate of Montana State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing, a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources & Rangeland Ecology, and a minor in French. Previously she worked as the Customer Service Supervisor for the Montana State University Bookstore, with additional training in Human Resources. Outside of her work for the North Douglas Library District, Katrina is a book reviewer for NetGalley and a freelance editor. She is dedicated to lifelong education and literacy, with a passion for languages and traveling.
Candy came out of retirement to reopen the Mildred Whipple Library for the North Douglas Library District and served as our Interim Librarian from 2018-2019. Her career includes decades in the North Douglas School District as a teacher and a librarian. She also was a branch librarian at the Mildred Whipple Library when it was part of the county system. Her dedication to the North Douglas community includes serving on the Drain Planning Commission and the board of the Applegate House.
