August 26, 2021: Due to the rapid rise in local COVID-19 cases and to remain consistent with our partner libraries, the Mildred Whipple Library will be returning to curbside library service and restricted building access effective immediately.

The health and safety of our staff and community govern our operational decisions, and in order to maintain a low-risk environment and ensure the library remains a safe place for all health levels to visit, our new services will be as follows:

  • Curbside service will be available during all open hours to all patrons. To participate in curbside service: place holds online at ndld.biblionix.com/catalog (requires account login), by calling 541-836-2648, or by emailing info@ndld.org. If you are looking for something new but are not sure where to start, library staff are available to help you find your next read. Reserves will be available for pick up in the Civic Center foyer.

  • The building will remain closed to general traffic, but limited occupancy appointments will be available during open hours. Appointments are limited to 1 household at a time for up to 30 minutes. Laptops are available to checkout to patrons wishing to use a computer (restrictions apply).

  • Masks are required in the building, regardless of vaccination status. Anyone ages 5 and older must wear a mask that fully covers their mouth and nose at all times while in the building. Masks are available. Unattended children under the age of 12 will not be admitted.

  • Any in-person programs are postponed during this time. On-your-own programs will be announced as they are available and posted on our program calendar (https://www.ndld.org/library-events).

  • Book delivery to homebound patrons remains available. Books are delivered the last Saturday of every month; please call 541-836-2648 to sign up for this program.

During library building closures, the library’s online resources and services remain available to patrons 24/7, including:

- Oregon Digital Library Consortium's Library2Go

- All Online Databases, including Chilton car repair and over 45 Gale databases (through Libraries of Oregon)

- Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (register online for FREE here)

- FREE daily wifi 8AM - 8PM in the Civic Center parking lot

- Monthly on-your-own programs for babies and toddlers, children, teens, and adults.

- Our form for library suggestions and feedback.

Please contact the library at 541-836-2648 or info@ndld.org.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time!
