COVID-19 LIBRARY UPDATES
**Update (12/8/2020): In accordance with state COVID-19 guidance, the Mildred Whipple Library resumed modified contactless services on Tuesday, December 8. The Civic Center building will continue to remain closed to patrons until further notice. Staff will continue to monitor county and state public health advisories and will modify library services accordingly, erring on the side of caution. Updated information will be posted on this page and on our social media.**
While Douglas County remains in the Extreme Risk Level, the Mildred Whipple Library will offer the following services:
Online Patron Assistance
During designated times, staff will be available for online (website forms and social media), phone (541-836-2648), and email (email@example.com) assistance. Have your questions answered, receive book recommendations, learn about our ongoing programs, or just say hi! While Douglas County remains in the Extreme Risk Level, the library will be unable to offer face-to-face interactions with library staff. Staff will be available for patron assistance (online, phone, and email only) on the following days (subject to change, please see our calendar for specific dates and times):

Drive-Up Material Pick Up
On Wednesdays, from 10:00AM to 5:00PM, patrons will be able to pick up materials they have placed on hold. Patrons can place holds for library materials 3 ways:
Online at: https://ndld.biblionix.com/catalog. Login with your library card number and password (the default password is the full phone number attached to the account).
Call the library at 541-836-2648.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Library staff will pull requested items, check them out, and prepare them for pickup. You will receive a notification when your holds are ready to be picked up. Pick ups will be available every Wednesday 10:00AM to 5:00PM in the Civic Center foyer. Material pick up will not be available on Tuesdays or Fridays. Please use the book drop to return materials.
Patrons may also contact the library for personalized book suggestions (ask for a specific author, genre, target reading category, etc.).
During library building closures, the library’s online resources and services remain available to patrons 24/7, including:
- All Online Databases, including Chilton car repair and over 45 Gale databases (through Libraries of Oregon)
- Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (register online for FREE here)
- FREE daily wifi 8AM - 8PM in the Civic Center parking lot
- Our form for library suggestions and feedback.
