**March 2020: The North Douglas Library District is offering free, temporary library cards with access to online resources to all patrons during the COVID-19 closure of the Mildred Whipple Library.
Please fill out the form below to request a temporary library card.**
The North Douglas Library District offers several types of library cards to our patrons: in-district cards, out-of-district cards, student cards, and Oregon Library Passport Program cards. Cards are active for one year and then must be renewed. For all card applications, a photo ID and proof of residency are required.
Anyone over the age of 5 may sign up for a library card; however, patrons under the age of 18 must have a guardian sign for them. Any child under the age of 5 may sign up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (learn more about this incredible program here). Patrons may only have one type of library card at a time.
In-District cards are free and are available to any resident of the North Douglas School District, City of Drain employees, North Douglas School District employees, or any business owner within the district. These cards are funded by the property taxes generated within the district.
Out-of-District cards are $45.00 for individuals, $35.00 for seniors and veterans, and $75.00 for a family of 4 (4 cards, limit of 2 adults & all 4 family members must reside at the same address).
Student cards are free and are available for any school-aged child within the district. Student cards have a maximum checkout capacity of two items.
Oregon Library Passport Program cards are available to patrons from other libraries who participate in the passport program. Patrons must be in good standing with their home library in order to receive a passport card. For more information, please visit the Oregon Library Passport Program page.
